Scientist Create Speech From Brain Signals , NY times aritcle title and Scientists have found a way to decode brain signals into speech, an MIT technology reveiw article. I feel like the review is sort of the same thing as the article in a sense that they both give information about that certain technology. But, before I read it I made a hypothesis towards if one would sound more opinionated. I thought that the review would be more opinionated because it is a review and they might be comparing it to other technological items or standards, or saying if it will or will not work in the future. One great thing to start off with is an image, and that is exactly both of the items did. The one by MIT was a colorful brain with messages saying, "Hello," "Yo," etc. along with different parts of the brain having different patterns. The NY times image was...(IMG 1). Emotional Appeals and Ad Techniques

Image
I think that emotional appeals and ad techniques are super important to advertising and commercializing a product. You can easily relate to someones life by using the same language, especially by targeting teens, because we are easily influenced to buy certain things. For example, this iPhone ad. "Life is easier on iPhone." Targeting all groups, and telling them that their lives will be easier with an iPhone. It is a simple statement. They follow up with saying, "And that starts as soon as you turn it on." It is as simple as that. A technique they use is simple solutions. It is very apparent that as long as you buy and iPhone and as soon as you press the on button, your life is that much easier. Emotionally you will feel less stressed and more happy if you buy an iPhone.

Persuaders

As I watch The Carries Diaries on Netflix, some techniques used in the show is to have many different kinds of characters. For example, Carrie is a fashionista, her sister is emo, her dad is smart boss man, her friend is a nerd, her other friend is an 80's girl and her boyfriend is popular. This might be a way of getting the audience to find a character and be able to connect to one of them. Personally I connect with Carrie, because I love fashion and we share a lot of the same interests like writing in a notebook when we want to let our feelings out and taking risks for our benefit. This picture represents  a lot of different people and different reactions to things. I think shows like these can also lead to something taking a certain interest that one of the characters has. As I kept watching the show and kept watching Carrie persue her fashion career I started thinking more and more about fashion, but as soon as I stopped watching the show I was less intrigued in that study than

Relationship with Media

One of my favorite songs is Younger by Harry Gardner. I love this song, because of how slow and how soothing it is. Also, one of the instruments in the background is the piano, which I have been growing up with. So, this song is really good at connecting to my life and others life, especially with lyrics like, "And now I look back and see how times have changed." It really gets me thinking of how life has changed, and how my outlook on life is way different than it was about five years ago, or even a year ago. The picture cover of the song and it really gives an idea of what the song is about, with the drawings and the stick figures.
